GABA-B receptor
January 2021
The metabotropic GABA-B receptor belongs to the class C of the G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and is responsible for the inhibitory neurotransmission in the central nervous system (CNS). GABA-B is the only receptor among the entire class that functions as a mandatory heterodimer with a unique linker region arrangement, essential for signal transduction. Recently resolved GABA-B full-length structures can contribute to the overall understanding of this process. With 3decision you can create your own sequence annotation to easily map this particular linker domain onto the 3D structure. The color highlight on the Annotation Browser allows you to quickly visualize amino acids of the linker region and their interaction with the long extracellular domain 2 (ECL2) forming an anti-parallel beta-sheet.
