Our very own Daniel Alvarez-Garcia will give a talk. Check out the abstract here:
Efficiency in drug design projects through improved macromolecular structure handling
Organizing raw complex structural biological data into usable knowledge is not an easy task. The challenge gets even greater if this knowledge needs to be easily accessible and exploitable in drug design projects. The need to surmount this obstacle is becoming critical as more and more structure data is being produced every year. The importance also lies in the fact that interdisciplinary teams often rely on different isolated data sources that need manual curation for each project. In this talk we show how a central, easily accessible and well-organized knowledge storage system will improve scientist’s work within drug discovery projects. Here we present our approach to help scientists focus on the core of their activities by automating tasks like data collection, preparation and communication with other members of the team. Last, we will highlight the current shortcomings and describe future goals in the field.
